Khao Chang : This hill is Phang Nga's landmark,
standing behind the Provincial Hall, a large hill that resembles
a kneeling elephant.
Phung
Chang cave: This cave is located within the grounds of
Phra Phat Phra Jim Kaet Temple behind the Provincial Hall. Inside
are stalagmites, stalactites and a stream that runs all year round.
Two-hour excursions on foot, canoe, or raft through the cave are
available (contact Thongthae Sea Canoe teI.0-7641-2292).
Ruesi Sawan and Luek Seua Caves: These two caves
are located in Somdej Phra Sri Nakkharin Park on Petchkasem Road,
diagonally across from the Provincial Courthouse. The two caves
are connected, with the Ruesi Sawan cave in front. Inside are stalactites,
stalagmites and small streams.
Khao
Ngum Cave: This cave is located across from the entrance
to Phoong Chang Cave. Inside are stalagmites and stalactites. One
part of this cave has great number of seashells adhered to the mountain.
Sra Nang Manorah Park or Nang Manorah Waterfall :
To get to this waterfall take Route 4 between Phang Nga and Krabi
for 4 kms. Turn right next to the Electric Station and drive a further
3 kms.
Phang Nga
Bay National Park: Phang Nga Bay was declared a national
park on April 29, 1981 and covers a total area of 250,000 rai in
the district of Muang (Phang Nga Town) and Thakua-thung.
Take Route 4 from Phang Nga towards Khoke Kloy for about 8 kms.
Turn left on Route 4144 and drive a further 4 kms.
There are many places where boats can be rent to travel
to Phang Nga Bay, such as:
Tha
Daan Sullakakorn Pier (Customs Pier) : This pier is near
the Phang Nga Bay Resort. Boats from small to large-including boats
suitable for group tours-may be rented here (large boats can be
rented at Rua Lak Muang tel. 0-7641-1140 or Cha Charan tel. 0-7641-1490).
Surakul or Ka-Som Pier: This pier is in Thakua-thung.
The boat available here are roofed long-tail boats (contact Rua
Puen Foong tel. 0-7649-6420, Rua Kiat Chai
Charoen tel. 0-7649-6475, or Phol Shop tel. 0-7649-6381).

Roofed long-tail boats can be rented here.
The Provincial Administration Organization Pier (the Or
Bor Jor Pier): Roofed long-tail boats are available.
Boat
rental fees (chartered boat fares) are shown on signs at all piers.
It takes about 3 hours to view Phang Nga Bay.
The bay can be accessed all year round.
Panyee
Island: Most of islanders are Muslim fisherfolk. There
are many souvenir shops and restaurants on the island.
Khao Phing-kan: This famous attraction is located
in Thakua-thung District. From Khao Phing-kan you can see another
famous attraction, Koh Tha-pu, an island that resembles a nail.
Thum Lod : This cave has beautiful and stalactites.
Tourists can go through the cave on long-tail boat.
Hong
Island: Canoes can enter the caves of this island and find
a lagoon that is surrounded by walls of limestone, similar to being
in a large hall.
Panak Island: This island has a cave full of
beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, along with a small stepped
waterfall and a lagoon ideal for canoeing. There are also many types
of flora and fauna to be found in the island's mangrove forest.
Lawa
Yai Island: This island is approximately two hours away
by long-tail boat from the national park. It is a small island with
beautiful white beaches, clear water, and beautiful coral.
Khao Khien: This island is located on the way
to Panyee Island. Animal drawing that date back more than 3,000
years ago are on the wall of Khao Khien.
Phang Nga Wildlife
Breeding Center :
The Center is located on Petchakasem Road in Tambon Thaak Daed on
the road to Phang Nga Bay from Phuket. Many nearly-extinct species
can be found here, such as mynahs, parrots, hawks, peacocks, pheasants,
gibbons, mountain goats, and langurs (long-tailed monkeys). The
Center is open daily from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. tel. 0-7641-3261.
Tapan
Cave Monastery: This monastery is located in Tambon Thai
Chang in Phang Nga Town. If travelling from Phuket to Phang Nga
Town, go about 600 meters past the Provincial Hall, turn left and
go on for about 400 meters to the monastery. Inside is a bridge
called the "Dragon Bridge that Spans Hell". At one end
of the bridge is a cave that has many beautiful attractions, such
as a waterfall, a stream, the Diamond Dharma Meditation Area, stalactites
and stalagmites resembling a castle, a three-peaked stupa, a thousand
-year old stone turtle, etc.
Tone Pariwat Wildlife
Sanctuary: The sanctuary is in Tambon Song
Praek on the road from Phang Nga Town to Ka-pong District. About
5 Kms. from Phang Nga Town, turn right at Baan Song Praek and go
on for another 15 kms to the sanctuary. Full of many species of
trees, a waterfall, and a stream, this beautiful area can be visited
